My 54 is missing the center dash cover (shiny thing next to the glove compartment door). What is it called and where can I get a replacement? From pictures and other trucks I have seen, it says Chevrolet along the top and its usually chrome or stainless. What is it for? Thanks!
Center dash cover If this is the part your missing it covers the wiring , radio speaker ect ? Chev parts vendors as Classic Parts of America , Brothers trucks and Jim Carter sells aftermarked parts. There are a few for sale on EBAY aswell. http://www.classicparts.com/1947-53-Radio-Speaker-Grill-Chevrolet/productinfo/69-543/#.UulTrWeA2cw Martinius.
dash mutilation If you have a '54 that is missing the cover that's too bad because '54's do not have those nice shiny covers. I wish they did. Somebody hacked out the radio grill bars on your truck, bro. Just like they did to mine. I bought another complete frigging dash to repair it. It's one of those things that requires a "round tuit" for me to do the repair, but I can't seem to find the right size "round tuit" on the Harbor Fright website. :roll eyes: Andy
Man, you are right. My dash was hacked up. I thought that big hole was there cuz it was missing that cover. Nope...someone just cut it up.
I am not allowed to offer any parts for sale here as Nate will step in & bust my balls for not giving parts away for free & pay the shipping too If your dash is hacked.... you could get a patch panel from a donor dash but, it would be better to replace the entire dash with an unmolested one. All you need to do is find someone who is crazy enough to save vintage AD truck dash panels to rectify circumstances just like this
1954 Dash Joe Is this a 1954 dash. It has a totally different shape as the 47-53 panels. Looking good.
