    Hello,
I have disambled my vent windows because the windows glasses where damaged. I put the windows into a furnace and heatend them about 200 °C and pull the glasses out of the frame.
I took a look about the frame and saw there is a black substance in the frame body. I didn't knew what kind of sbstance this is.
So my question is, what do you take to fix new glasses into the frame?
    Wolfgang

It's called ' Glass Setting Tape " and you can use the stuff from an old VW Kafer.....

Heat isn't necessary , just use a dead blow mallet or rubber hammer , support the frame on a bench covered in old carpet .

I have switched to quick setting urethane for my glass setting. Works well and won't pull out.
