Moving this weekend and needed a wet weight on the truck. 53 3100. Heidts IFS with rack and pinion and discs. TH350, 350 small block with iron heads and manifolds. 12 bolt rear.
Many years ago when I had my '50, I took it to the dump with a load. They weighed it after, and it was about 3000 lbs. The only mod that had been done to it, was a 292 engine. Sorry I don't remember the exact weight, this was about 30 years ago.
I figured it was worth the $10 just to know. I wish I still had race scales. I bet the distribution is horrible.
My '52 GMC 150 (3/4 ton) flat bed weighs 3840 with a full tank of gas. Luckily, my fat body wasn't in it at the time.
weight distribution It IS horrible (well, it is a truck afterall) I "in-process" weighed Penny on race scales the other day. At the time she did have: rolling S10 frame with suspension and brakes Colorado 8" rear all sheet-metal except tailgate complete iron-block 5.3L and 4L60E stock radiator steel wheels and tires She didn't have: bumpers running boards driveshaft interior glass tailgate lights, wiring, battery 2,545 lbs total. 1525 front, 1017 rear. so, 60/40 distribution
