what i've done with help from all of you

    Spent the weekend mounting the engine on the frame.

    No small task for a newbie...and I could not have done it without the help of this board!

    thanks, now another obviously too late tonight to fix it question

    i took the pic looking through my clutch... is it missing something? like maybe a pilot bushing/bearing?

    Doesn't look like a pilot bushing is in there to me...wouldn't be rusty looking if it was.

    yea wheres that little brass thingy. oh yea a pilot bushing its kinda important, sorry. Nice to see a 6 banger Kilroy was here!!!!

    pilot bushing in.

    all back together...

    now to figure out how to get those damned exhaust pipe bolts out of the manifold

    I have heard of cutting the old rusty bolts off then drilling though the manifold and using bolts to hold pipe to manifold. Heat will play hell with your pretty paint Kilroy Was here!!!

    i am thinking about taking the manifold off and drilling out those bolts.

    maybe heat around where they are in wit ha torch and then use vice grips to get them out?

    If you are considering using the "flame wrench" take them off the truck first !!

    old bolts out, new bolts in.

    one came out reluctantly, one put up a fight and twisted off.

    rustbucket: I have question about your pictures above : What kind of driveshaft setup do you have? Looks like a 1pc setup?
