what kind of truck do i need for a

i searched and need more info. i am looking into getting a 63 k20 4x4. i want to see if it would be better to get a complete parts truck for the power steering, axle swap for the disc brakes. while i am asking i also am interested in finding out if i can lower the truck witha simple spring under? i am not sure if the cab will hit or what ever. i am new to the classic thing as well.

if i were to get a doner vehicle what sould i look for as a difficulty of switching over all the front end. i am a mechanic, i have a lift at my house. there are plenty of other guys better than me.
