No JOKE! I see pictures of what I started with and I feel ill! I can't believe how much you can get into with these, but I sure am glad I decided to go the route I did!
Wow your truck has turned out nicely. Is this thread for all of us to post before & after pictures? I might have 1 or 2 pictures that I could post of my truck.
Those are two great looking rides. You guys have seen photos of my progress but you have not seen my jeep progress. First photo is when I was able to work on the jeep out side and the next is some long weeks later.
Uh , You're kidding , right ? those are not even the same series of Jeeps , one being a flat fender CJ2A / MB and t'other being a CJ5 / M38..... -Nate
Charles, What kind of vitamine have you been feeding that Jeep? That could bring on a steroid test! Cute.
Just trying to insert some humor here and there. The work required to get these projects to where we can drive them without being placed into divorce is amazing. For those that do not go throught there trucks to every nut and bolt, Thanks for keeping them alive. Here is a link of a place I found while surfing the net. It reminds me of Kens truck, the work involved beyond words. http://www.guildclassiccars.com/1948_chevrolet_truck_850/850_001.html The photos I put up of the jeeps and tractor had a 53 pipe line welding rig in the back ground.
After And now, after 3 years, two kidney stones and the loss of a couple of close family members.........................
Better than the guys that tear their trucks apart and never get them back together again. Brit: What's with the TF in the background? You're not planning to go over to the Dark Side, are you?
Most of you have seen the pics of the before and after on a 54 Olds Starfire convertible we did but it was not the WORST car we've done. That honor (dis?) goes to a 66 SS396 Malibu that left the shop with only three original panels; the hood, the top, and the deck lid. The firewall, the dash, even the radio case were all lace curtain. We ran a 4x4x 3/8 wall tube through the windshield and out the rear window and then welded 1 1/4 schedule 40 tubing to all the points structural pieces were supposed to be. We pulled these measurements from a car of a long time friend of mine who is a Chevelle nut. He also has a 427 Yenko but for some reason wouldn't let us crawl all over it. Anyway, here's before and after pics of a 6 month Olds project. If any of you live near Austin this car is now in the Central Texas Auto Museum in Rosanky, Texas.
Evan, you never cease to amaze me! That car is awesome! Have you finished the '37 Chevy coupe yet? I need pics of that!
OK, Brit50, call me a snob, a braggard, just don't call me "late for supper" I gotta get in on this too! First picture, circa '83; second picture, '08.
Rolling chassis: The day we picked up the old truck. (That's me in the hat) Installing the motor Winning the burn out contest Old truck out in a field.
Do you see what I see??? brit~ sorry 'bout the family members. On a much brighter note, I am SOOOO proud to see you have G~ Yes~ G fenders on that ride of yours!!!! I have an extra shroud and so-so grill I'll send you FOC. Then all you'll need is a hood and you'll be GOOD TO GO!!!! NOW I'm happy! Nate's news stinks.
Pictures of my hand painted pinstriping on the Chevy https://talk.classicparts.com/showthread.php?t=9146 I got the truck pinstriped today. Its officially a rat rod now.
Oh Zig... Before you beat your chest too hard, those look like "C" fenders to me with "DPO" holes drilled in them. That Chevy grille fits too well in there for them to be "G" fenders! Anyway, I think that Brit50 has done a marvelous job in 3 years. At least he's taken 2 pictures! Hey Neil, is that your TF truck in the background? Looks solid! I'll leave you with these 2 parting shots.
