Hi, I have recently installed a drop spindle disc conversion kit on my 1960 c10 panel. I also opted for the daul master cylinder and booster. My old brake set-up had to different size brake lines; larger size for front brakes and smaller size pipe to rear brakes. Can somebody please tell me what size pipe i need to use now with the new brake parts? And also how routed your brake pipes.

    Thanks in advance, Steve.

When upgrading to front disc brakes, the truck should be upgraded to 3/16" brake line. This size line builds up more pressure and gives a much better pedal feel.

The lines are run down to the left (driver's) side frame rail, and across the back of the front crossmember. The front line needs a T fitting. One side of the T goes to the left front brake, the other across the rear of the front crossmember to the right front.
The rear line runs across the rear of the front crossmember to the rear line junction on the right frame rail about even with the firewall. You will need a line adapter to go from the new 3/16th line to the old rear line.

Don't forget to use a proportioning valve just below the master cylinder.

Thanks for your help dvalentine. I do have the proportioning valve aswell, all components came from our hosts. My line to the rear brakes is already 3/16th so is that what i should stick with? 3/16 brake line front and back? Also i see some cars make a couple of loops in their brake line just after the proportioning valve, do i need to do that aswell?

    Thanks again, Steve.
