[updated:LAST EDITED ON Jun-12-03 AT 01:51 PM (CST)]So, I'm thinking about putting some new wheels on my rig. It's a 2wd at the stock height, and I want to put 18's on it. I'm just not sure about the width. Anybody know how wide I can go before I need to start trimming stuff?
There are alot of factors to consider when you go away from stock wheels. You can probably expect to go to about 275mm (P275/60R18) without the fender flares or affecting the suspension. If you want a tire that is wider then you need to start considering your options on the wheels you are choosing. A very important factor is wheel offset. Refer to these links to determine how far you need to go away or towards your truck's suspension. http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html http://www.usacomp.com/Offset.htm http://www.1010tires.com/wheeltech.asp
