It's been a bad day so far. Trying to get this shock absorber conversion installed and it ain't going so good. The little stuff gets me sometimes. Like this one. The rear shock lower mount has a bend in it that the shock attaches to. It's like a side ways 'L' shape and I don't know wether the "L" goes up or down. Please help a dufus :D and tell me which way it is supposed to go.

    Thanks

    shock brkt

If you are talking about the bottom brkt that goes on the u-bolts,they go down.
On your brake cable, the bolt goes on the inside and the nuts on the outside.

    Hope this helps.

    Oh that way!

Thanks Gene, I had them facing down but wasn't sure. Now I can at least finish up the springs and shackles.

On the brake cable, do you know if that felt gasket is supposed to go between the two clamp things on the end of the cable? I'm having trouble seeing how it is supposed to be installed. :confused:I currently have the felt between the clamps and the clamps compressed up againt the backing plate with the bolts through them and the nuts on the inside. I will reverse the bolts/nuts per your response. This 'stack up' looks a lot thicker than I remember when I took this thing apart. I know - never throw the old part out till you got the new one installed. No I didn't take enough pictures either. I keep relearning this stuff so I figure I have a case of CRS..."can't remember stuff" I'm also wondering if they sent me the right parts. Oh well let me go work on the springs!!!

    Thanks again.
