I have a 1950 pickup, and I currently am having the ('54 235) engine professionally rebuilt. While it is out, I'm going to swap out the entire cab for a '54 5-window cab. I live in Wisconsin, so the '50 cab is rusted out pretty badly in some spots...I would need to spend over $450 just on patch panels to make it solid again! I bought a 1954 parts truck that came from California...NO (or very little) RUST and it has a very solid cab!! The plan is to swap the cabs, and then put the '50 doors on the '54 cab, so I keep the 1950 look more or less; solid side windows, turn down door handles. Plus then I go from a 3-window to a 5-window.

Now that you know the story:), here's my question: I am also going to buy a new wiring harness, but I don't know which one! There are different harnesses for the '50 and the '54. Which should I get, considering I will have a 1950 truck with a 1954 cab and 1954 engine bolted to it? And what's the difference between the two harnesses anyway??

Thanks in advance for your replies!

I would go with the 54 harness because that's the year of your cab that way all the gauges and every thing under the dash will go together. The rest of the truck is going to be the same.
