my 1976 4x4x half ton makes a sound like the front wheels are rubbing and it feels like it too..ive had my wife drive in a parking lot with wheels turned all the way and its not the front tires...what could it be..i have a 84 cab,everything else is 76...i would apreciate any help or ideas...also...im in sussex county new jersey but im from texas,is there any good 4x4 places here...or any 4x4 clubs...or would anyone be interested in one
it might be your transfer case i had a 73 chevy that made drindin noses and it was my transfer case or maybe your tires are rubing steering box
Did you just change it lately and it started. You check the cab mounts 73-80 mounts sit higher then 81-87 mounts. I forget for sure now but if your useing 73-80 frame the mounts have to be year of the frame your work with. or might be the cab yr has to match the mounts. So again 4x4 73-80 mounts........ 4x4 81-87 mounts........... 4X2 73 - 80 mounts.......... 4x2 81 - 87 mounts......... maybe the heat sheld on the drive shaft.
