O.K. , so last night I'm coming home from checking out a Vintage Mercedes Coupe and I'm deep in the heart of South Central Los Angeles , about 6:30 P.M. so the rush hour traffic is backed up for miles in every direction , there's all manner of folks trying to get home and Lo ! - I see three Brothers on Horseback in full Western getup riding down the sidewalk....

    English saddles tho' .

    L.A. is such a strange place . :p

    Horses?

This may sound like it's made up, but it aint.'

I see horses being riden around here every day, most days i'll see one riden to town and tied to a light post or tree. We even have a couple of old codgers who drive their wagon to town full of produce. They park on the square (around the court house) and sell there items.

Around here you have to give a rider his share of the road just like it were a car.

We love it, keeps things real. Don't want to hit your brakes to hard on that spot in the road though,,, slip slidden away:D

This is horse country, seems everybodys got em, we have huge trail rides here where 100s come from even out of state and ride and camp for days then load up in there 100 thousand dollar rigs and head home. Who'ed a thunk it:)

AHHH, the country life, it's great and as far as traffic back up go, yesterday we had a huge back up at the (one) stop sign, there were three cars:D

Ha Nate maybe they were filming a Modern day Western. You know the one with the cowboy's as drug dealers and all.:p I would be careful walking on the side walks out there. May come up on some slippy parts. Horses can leave quite the piles.

I sold 23 acres of my farm to a guy that has since bought more acreage so that he has a total of about 100. He built a conventional horse barn with all the bells and whistles on the inside and a nice barn look on the outside. Then he built a 60 x 200 post steel building and basically put another barn in it. This is all next to my house but I live up on a hill so there is some privacy. He has 35 purebred Rocky Mountain horses. Not counting the horses I figure he has spent at least 2 million dollars in the last 5 years. So I am surrounded by horses.

One thing I know is no self respecting real cowboy would use an English saddle. I have nothing against English saddles. It's just wrong for a cowboy to ride one. A Buena Vista saddle that has no horn is fine cause the Spanish cowboys rode them but not an English.

So are you saying that brothers can't ride horses? And why do people automatically associate drugs with black people?

We are just a group of brothers of all mixs & colors in this forum Loving our old AD trucks. No reason to bring the worlds issues on these pages. God knows we are have to deal with it too much any more. Let's try and keep this a netural ground to have some fun & enjoy our Love of the old trucks and also pick on Ken & Kevin Please. Can't we just all get along ?

Spare me your BS ! I grew up with horses and the best Horsemen I ever knew , were all brothers .

YOU try living in South Central Los Ageles and try to disassociate black folks with drugs .

I am raising Foster kids , all of them are :

    A. Black and

    B. crack babies .

Chris Rock and Bill Cosby both say what I said , I don't see any Brothers bagging on them .

    Couldn't keep my word

I said the previous post was the last for me on this subject... Then I read nate's post and couldn't pass it by.

Nate... you da man... I had great respect for you before I knew you raised foster kids (notice no color mentioned), now I know you are anything but selfish, That alone takes a GREAT amount of love. Those children don't care where they came from or who is raising them as long as they KNOW that someone loves them and cares about THEM.

Man oh Man... how do you do it, that's a full time job all by itself. This selfless act of love takes a very special person. My family took on children from the same type of background as those you mentioned and, well you know where I'm headed, I never thought I could do it because it is one of the most difficult things in life to do. Your neighbors, friends and often family don't understand you or why you do it.

Only you and others like you know why... BECAUSE OF LOVE, there just aint enough money in the world... and then someone might think your racist:confused:

Anyway, May God richly bless you and your home

"...not by the color of our skin, but by the content of our character."

It would be great if people who have children would pass on the drugs long enough to give their newborn half a chance. That's got to be the saddest thing about this whole deal.
