    Hey Gang,

My 65 K10 still has the original tranny but has a 350 out of a 75. It still has the original style starter which bolts to the bellhousing. My question is, will the later style starters (that bolt into the block with two bolts) work with the old tranny? I figure I'm not the first one down this road.

    Thanks.

No, unfortunatley it won't work, I found out the hard way, it looks like a perfect fit, but doesn't line up with the flywheel, looks like you have to go with the original style, I did, I have a 1960 Chevy pickup with a 71 350 and original 3 speed

    Mike,

Thanks for the information. I'll go ahead and replace the starter now and keep the old one for an emergency spare (it still has a few starts left in it!)

    Thanks again.
