I have a 1951 chevy 3100 and I would like to put a whole new front to back wire harness but I want a 12volt wire harness because I am going to put alot of 12volt items in the truck. Any suggestions?

I have installed 1 Its a Snap..in my truck, 2 EZ Wires in ADs, Rebel wire in a Pantera and have an American Autowire for the 41 F**D I am building.

I have had no problems from any of these, but the American Autowire direct fit harness shure is a nice one. It even comes with all switches and plugs.

If you are budget minded the 12 circuit Speedway Motors harness is $140 (part # 910-64017) and the 20 circuit for something with every kind of bells and whistles is $160 (part #910-64027). Has all the fuses and relays and each wire is printed with its destination. Have had no trouble out of them.

I used the EZ Wiring harness on mine. Got the 20 circuit, and have a fuse for anything else I may want to add. Went in EZ, as advertised.

Everything works with everything - some easier than others.

You should be able to pick from among several harness options:
Generator or Alternator? If alternator, one wire type?
Ammeter (stock style) or Voltmeter (more common today and safer)?
"Completely stock", or added turn signals and second brake light?
    Cloth covered wire, or plastic?
    etc.

I'm going to build my own harness, mostly because I want all of my wires oversized, relays for everything that draws a significant amount of current (horn, headlights, etc.), and added accessories in somewhat odd places. (And maybe an anti-theft trick or three.)

But whatever else you do, please don't ask whether the stock setup included a horn relay... :D
