Wireing Quston

I have the foot starter switch,what is the wiring that feeds into it? I know that the battery (red) attaches??I think?? Any thing else?? I have a main post on top of the switch and there is a side screw and nut???God I hate electrical work..Gaff

if im looking at mine correctly (could be wrong its not connected and one of the po's wired in a push button) its linkage that actuates the sylinoid

There is a terminal on the side of mine, but it is not connected to anything. The linkage from the starter pedal engages the gears. There is a set of really heavy copper contacts inside the switch on the top of the starter.
