    Three questions ........

Just hooked the wiring back up to my 64 truck.
When I turn the key on, the fuel tank reads
"full", but it's bone dry. Any Ideas what's wrong?
Pretty sure it worked when I drove it home three
years ago. Also pretty sure I couldn't have put
the sending unit in the tank upside down!

Also, I have to put the fuses back in the fuse
panel, but have no idea what amp fuse goes
where. I have a wiring diagram booklet,
that tells the amp ratings for the different
items, radio, heater, etc., but doesn't show
a diagram of the fuse panel itself.

My truck came with a GM / Delco alternator,
and I'd like to be sure it's wired up correctly,
seeing how the old wire was spliced and
    unused old wires cut off.
The alternator has the stud where the heavy
red wire bolts on, and the two wire plug that
    plugs in (marked 1 & 2).
Any good web pages showing different kind
    of conversions?

    Help much appreciated! Thanks, Tom

    Hi Tom...
Wow, a few weeks ago, it was ME asking these questions.

i am no expert, and I did not stay at Holiday Inn Express, but, my fuel gauge did the same thing and I had a bad sending unit. Check your grounding screw as well. You can't put the thing in upside down. (if that was possible, i would have done it....twice)

I recommend you buy the Assembly Manual for your truck from our sponsors here. That advice was given to me on this forum and that book was a LIFE SAVER! It has almost every answer you can want, including the fuse placement. That book was always by my side.

Are you going to re-wire? I did my 63 and buddy, it was well worth the $. I got a Painless harness from Summit Racing and it is literally idiot proof (good thing for me) Couple of things are not clear in their manual, but the harness addresses issues like the alternator wiring. I had the same issue

Is your fuse block still marked so you can tell what each space if for?
