I am wiring my 1951 Chevy 3/4 ton and need to know if anyone sells some kind of device that covers the wires coming out of the 1" hole in the firewall. I am keeping my firewall clean but all these wires are looking like a bunch of spaghetti. I will be using the split loom but I would like something up there that covers the wire coming out of the hole so that it doesn't look so obvious.

You could make a cover out of soft plastic, or maybe look in the conduit isle at Lowe's to see what they have....

Then again...I just moved the harness down to behind the inner fender, then ran my wires under the fender to remain hidden. Use grommets to pass through metal, keeps the wires from chafing.

I thought about that except my big feet would make a mess of the wires.

Try Radio Shack for project boxes and cut the holes you need to get the wire through. When going through the firewall, lay the wires so that the ones hanging a left or right lay together. A little time spent organizing the lay of the wires really cleans up the look also.

40 Fords had a metal cover the hid the wires coming through the firewall and turned them down towards the bottom of the firewall. It is smooth and held on with three sheet metal screws IIRC. Since it is such a desired car there are probably reproductions of this piece.
