1949 chevy 1/2 ton short bed with 3 speed going to put sm420 4 speed in Will the torque tube be the same
Its been a while since I've replied to anyone, but... Yes, the torque tube is the same. I made the 3 speed to 4 speed swap a few years ago. The u-joint and u-joint ball are also the same. You just have to be sure that you have the ball housing that bolts to the back of the transmission, and converts the SM420 to an enclosed driveline.
