How can you tell when the following suspension parts go bad?

    idler arm,
    control arms,
    pittman arm

    What are the "symptoms?"

    Thanks,

THE TELLS FOR THIS ARE IRREGULAR TIRE WARE TRUCK WANTING TO FOLLOW RUTTS IN THE ROAD SLOP IN THE STEERING (I.E.PLAY)
GET A FRIEND AND HAVE THEM ROCK THE STEERING WHEEL BACK AND
FORTH AND LOOK FOR PLAY IN YOUR TIE ROD ENDS,IDLER ARM ANYMORE THAN 1/16 OF AN INCH UP AND DOWN MOVEMENT IS NO GOOD.
THIS PARTS ARE EASILY CHANGED WITH COMMEN HAND TOOLS AND A TIE ROD FORK, COUNT THE THREADS ON THE TIE RODS SO YOU CAN BALLPARK IT CLOSE ENOUGH TO DRIVE IT TO AN ALIGHMENT SHOP OR YOU COULD TAKE IT INTO THE SHOP TO BE CHECK $$$.
TRY IT YOUR SELF FIRST,ANYTHING THAT LOOKS WRONG PROBABLY IS
