extra throttle assembly that bolts onto the block and has the pivot gizmo stuff with it. From it the throttle rod goes up to the carburetor.
    47/53, 216/235 years and engines??

    Throttle Linkage

The problem here is that what you're described has many different linkages ~ this is why it's so difficult to sort it out and get a smooth operating one...

I like the cast iron bellcrank best but good luck finding an un worn one these days .

About the only part that doesn't change significantly , is the vertical rod .

I used to just buy them enite linkages , bellcrank, pivot pinand all from any junker engine I found then clean , paint and mix 'n match until I had one that worked , then I'd give away or sell off the left over bits .

Once in a while a guy shows up to the Long Beach Veterans Stadium Swap Meet with piles of re-pop long rods...

I wonder if the host here might have them ? .

    Contractor fix

When I had to rebuild my throttle linkage, I bought a 3/16" solid aluminum rod and got it all bent up the way it worked best and then transferred all the easliy templated bends to the 3/16" steel rod that I also purchased at the local Lowe's hardware store...:D

I have the rod to bend it is the gizmo the rod connects to that is needed.

    Parts

If you look in one of my older posts about stock wheels , there's a guy off Rt. 14 (West of the Fwy.) near the RR junkyard in No. Antelope Valley (that's East I know , the junkyard is West a few miles) , sorry I don't remember the exit but he's there and has quite a few junker Big Bolt's you could prolly go look at and buy the bell crank off of and maybe the linkage rods too .

last time I was in High Desert Auto Salvage , they told me up front they had nothing that old but I found several old trucks in the back near the crusher , complete running gear in every one , he sold me the hard parts I needed cheaply and let me take 'em off too ~ nice as the original bellcrank pivot pin has a hairpin typ clip on it that always gets lost .

I hope this helps , you live out that way . I used to go scrounging out there a lot .

That would be Mike and I have bought many parts from him including a rusty yard art Massey Harris 22. I'll call him to see what he has.

    Thanks

    ! Wow !

See what I mean ? MotherTrucker has scads of good bits .

I'd say just send him (CChar) one of the stamped steel bellcranks with the pivot pin , one with good holes that doesn't wobble and the pin with no grooves .

From there the vertical rod is fairly simple to cobble up , the horizontal foot feed rod , OTOH , can be a real PIA , I used to always grab a box full like this and test fit as the pedal end curved up part seems to vary so you'll need a truck one with the proper hole to attach the the accelerator pedal and not be all worn out at the 90° bend part , PLUS (maybe most important) that up curve matches your toe board so it won't drag and cause sticky throttle , always a bad thing .

The trip to the poppy fields was with the sticky throttle and not fun, reason we stayed on the Freeway mostly.

    yeah ;

I went Saturday and was about to weeks too late ~ when will I learn that when they show those incredible pictures on the TV news , you need to go RIGHT THEN not two weeks later after the bloom is done and gone .

It was still nice though , just not increidbly beautiful like it can be .

Oddly enough , using a weaker throttle spring , usually helps ease sticky throttle action .

I am a big fan of the threaded adjustable rod that connects the bellcrank to the carb....
These puppies have 2" of adjustment & I have never run across a 216,235 or 261 motor that you couldn't get these to work on :D

He's fishing you see . he does have it set up for offers .

I see it has the adjustable carby end pivot .

He doesn't even know what he has as he claims it's off a 1963 235 and they went to thinwall engine in 1963....

Guys Thanks for the help in trying to get me the part I need, but What is the " bellcrank " ??? thangie?
As far as rods going from the carb down to what ever that part is called, I have 5 feet of rod to make what is needed. I just would like a better gizmo the rod connects to.
I wish this computor would let me post photos again but that is another thing I have paid for and some aeioja-erifg -98ertumqv4890tuv mse509ytibms=r9yb f'n dude has worked on something of mine and then left it in worst shape than that I took to them . I also spell checks my email in french and there is no way to change it except do a complete re-install via a disc. So I guess I will just take the gizmo off and go have it reworked by the welder.
Because of my back issues things just take 4 or 5 times longer than it should.
