So last night I removed the sheetmetal forward of the firewall in preparation for some welding and brake work. This afternoon my wife brought my little 2.5 yr old home from grammies house and as soon as they pulled in the driveway he started crying. We was upset because "daddy's truck is broken!" After a little exploration he calmed down and started pointing out how we were going to fix "that one" (the passenger wheel lying on the ground) to look like the" other one" (pointing at the drivers side still intact). I do believe i have started him off right! Thought you guys might appreciate this.
Proud dad! It's a great thing to have a project like this to work on with your young one! Anything that allows you to spend time together is a win-win! (Be sure to take LOTS of pictures!)
My boy was under my Ram the other day when I was changing rear end lube. He was pointing and asking what everything was. While I had to ride the creeper, he was squattin and crab walking under there. He handed me all sorts of things, wheather I needed them or not.
The lesson learned : Kids : all they want is your time and attention ~ if you refuse to give it to them in a positive vein , they'll act out until they get it when you're yelling at them . The choice is yours . Most here will have good kids who grown into productive adults , just like mine did and I raised him up in The Ghetto , mostly just him and I , working on this 'n that but always , I made time for him and listened .
Best thing ever Having my son was the BEST thing I have ever done. I spend as much time as possible with him. Luckily my job is 3 12 hour shifts a week. The rest of the time is daddy time. A couple days ago I got him a toy from a thrift store that is an all metal 1970 Chevelle and it is glued to his hand now!! He was telling my dad on the phone last night about his "muscle car". He loves daddy time and I try to make it educational and fun at the same time. After all, there will be a time when he needs to change my diaper and I want him to remember our time fondly!!! I hope that he will be a productive member of society and I know I got to where I am because of the support of my parents. I will post some more pictures as I get him turning wrenches.
Nice pedal cars Charles, I just recently finished this one, my eyes about popped out when I seen one identical to it go for 324.00 plus 75.00 shipping on E Bay...Big Tim
Thats great fellas, I can't wait until my son starts to move and talk and ask questions. But I'm already amazed how fast he has grown up. Just amazing!
