Hi all...been awhile since I've been here...just been checkin in once in awhile. Anyhow, here's the latest updates. Finally got my 292 perrty much done. Expected power output. 310 hp and 340 torque. Let me know what ya think, and oh yeah...still room for boost.
Looks sharp ! . Is that an alloy rocker box? . Where didja get the tapper covers with bowties ? . I assume you know that's the wrong thermostat lower housing there...? . What's the C/R ? . can't be boosting / turboing a stock compression engine .
Thanks! Its aluminum, Got the pushrod covers from Mike aka MrHotrod6 at ravenswood paint and body. He's on ebay. Technically I'm not going for a stock look so the style of thermo housing doesn't matter. lol Wrong you can boost a stock 230-250-292 to 10 pounds of boost. Stock compression of 7.8.1 made turboing an easy option. C/R for the new 6 is 9.5.1.
NOT Wrong The thermostat housing is important or at least the by-pass hose is . You'll also find out I'm right about the boost thing in due time . One thing for sure : that truck will fly .
Stock 292's have been boosted to 8-10 pounds all the time. Just look on youtube or talk to the other 6 banger guys on Inliner's International. But you have a reason to think other wise and that's all fine an dandy. The thermo housing has an opening for a bypass hose, but its plugged off as of now to give option or use or no use. And yeah...the truck will move for sure. lol
The Difference between me and the you toob boobs is : I've been working on and with these since they were new . I've only ever met a very few Hot Rodders who think more than a few months ahead . By all means , please make me wrong ! I know having a turbo charger on it will wake it up so much you'll easily break the U-Joints if you're not careful .
Very Nice! Now that is a sharp 6-banger!!! Ya gotta tell us more... You have a 9.5 compression ratio, 310 HP/ 340 Torque. Details,... Crank?, Cam?, Head work?, Carb? I see you have roller rockers. What are you going to do about headers, exhaust?

The Hotrodders who wrote then Inliner's Power Manual have been working on these since they were new as well. 310 hp and 340 torque can break u joints to. lol! Thanks man!
