What can I spray on metal parts to prevent rust for years of storage? Things like oil pumps, rocker arms, flywheels, heads, etc?

    Bill,
    1. Fogging oil in the spray can
    2. motorcycle chain lube, also in a spray can- it has high "cling" strength.
    3. plain old rustproofing, diluted with wax-and-tar remover, and sprayed.

All will be messy on an exterior surface.

Think I'll try the chain lube.

If you do try the chain lube, change out the spray tip for a wide-fan style. The one that comes on the can is a narrow fan (so you only lube the chain and not the entire motorcycle).

I also go for the GIBBS.
Wipe your chrome down with it and not worry about rust or corrosion for a couple years. GREAT STUFF! Gunsmiths swear by it
