You engine looks clean should run well they sound like a sewing machine at idle slight tap tap tap don’t trip out (I did) when the distributor moves back and forth when you push on the gas pedel I see duel exhaust so split manifold
You should hear it now it sounds way better than what it did that’s just replacing a few things next is a tune up It starts and stays on but once I try to go in gear it shuts off that’s where I’m stuck trying to figure out why
Could be the float In the carburetor you said you rebuilt it maybe not enough fuel the experts here will chime in with a solution
Just a thought is the plastic piece and gasket that’s between the carburetor and manifold on correctly or new old one might have cracks that aren’t visible creating air leaks
Are you suppose to remove the old completely it is stuck and it’s all damage I ended putting the new one on top of it what can I use to remove the old one completely
I would put a rag in the manifold hole block anything from falling in scrape it good not to gouge the metal
Thanks bro I will do that next week I go back to work tomorrow thru wendsday . What does your schedule look like how soon you want this done
If the engine is durable and will work for long time, so i would suggest to rebuild it, i had ford 1996 diesel truck that engine was good so i rebuild totally now i am using that for roadside service near me, i have been using that for 2 years and working great.
