Hi Guys,
I'm building a 47 chevy 3100 5 window with a 1958 235 and a T5 from a S10. My issue is the stock S10 shifter hits the bench seat going into 2nd, 4th and reverse. I've seen a few threads where guys have heated and bent the shifter but I'd rather buy one with the double curve if possible. Has any of you done the T5 swap and kept the bench seat? If so, how did you remedy the issue? TIA pic of my build so far.

Welcome to the Forum ADBuilder,
You will find a WEALTH of information here on all things AD. I personally do not have an answer for you, as my 53 3100 3-window is sitting on an S10 frame with a 5.3LS/4L60E between the fenders.

Add your location to your profile, and you may find you are nearby one of us.

Thanks, I just updated my location

I have a T5 in my truck. It is from a mid-80s camaro with an S10 tailshaft to get the shift lever in the cab in the right spot for a bench seat. Seats are stock frames.

I bought this one from Johnny Law Motors -

I think Johnny Law's quality sucks but it was the only shift lever I could find that fit the bill. I finally put some locktite on the treads to keep it from moving around.

The boot and the trim ring were from a Mopar (b-body?)

The S-10 shifter was pretty unsatisfactory with a 23" shift lever - way too big. Tried changing the lever ratio, but ultimatly bought a shifter for a Mustang T5 and used that. IIRC I had to make an adapter out of a bolt to fit the shifter.

I have a mid-80s S10 T5. Wouldn't that put the shifter in the same location as yours with the S10 tails haft? If I could find a shifter with a different bend to it to clear the seat I believe it would be fine but could be wrong. I figured someone here knew a trick or something.

The picture is the JL shift lever on a T5 tailshaft housing. My engine has been moved back a couple of inches so your location might be forward a couple inches

There's some posts over on Stovebolt.com about the T5 in the AD trucks you might check out
