Hey Ken, happy thanksgiving to you to. Also to all of my friends on here have a great extended weekend and don't work on the trucks to much, this weekend is for family. You guys really do brighten my night. I really look forward to all of the great things that we all talk about.

I don't think Zig will have to worry about his food being cold but burning it. I know how you like to work on the truck while the food is on the grille. Have a great weekend guys

Yup, I'm havin' family here, but they won't be here 'till I've got those last four rivits drilled out and the old trans mount removed!:D A simple bit of basting is all I need to worry about! And then tomorrow night????? The Chiefs beat the Broncos!!! (Sorry you Colorado clan- no offense... I mean don't get defensive...oh heck! It's ARROWHEAD!!!):D :D :D I do hope everyone has a great day and time off! May it find you looking forward to hugging a fender after everyone has gone to sleep! Thanks again for all your advice!

Ken you have to use the cheech and chong rolling papers and their mega lighter. After that you're on your own to keep that turkey smoking:D :D

    Turkey Day

Hey, don't forget about me... I want to say thanks to all you experts out there also. I have found myself addicted to this site as well,,, got to check it out 4 or 5 time a day at least.

I took off this whole week just to "hug a fender" as it was well put. Got myself and the Boop all primed up to travel the hour drive to pick up the Boops ride and got a call while on the way only to find out "we can't finish painting till next week" !!! man, that lit my joint. yep, even a preacher went to see the cheech. oh well, that was long ago, and I repented, after, I saw all the follow-up shows.

I did put both vent assy's together, oh so sweet, fits like new, well almost. I polished a little on the ss window garnish,,, antisipation,,, guess it don't hurt to dream of a cool ride for the Boop. She's sure been patient. They tell me they have lots of other vehicle to get painted. I say you've had it 8 weeks, how many other paint jobs can a man put in front of his family. For those who don't know, I also did electrical work commercially for about 10 years and I went over and did a 6000.00 $ job for free in trade for a professional paint job, baked on, so it would look good for the Boop, she's worth every penny, the Boop that is. And I must say that what they have painted looks amazing. But what gives with some people when they give you their word that something will be done in a week????? 8 WEEKS AGO.

OK! I've vented NOW for the good stuff... you fellows are funny, informative, and (important to me) don't make serious fun of those of us who still have a lot to learn about these fine rides. Thank you.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, thank the Lord for family, friends, blessings, happiness, and yes, I guess even Chevrolet for thinking about us so many years ago when they built these REAL TRUCKS as the Boop says.

May God bless and keep you
    Have a great day.

    The BOOPS Dad :D

    Thankful

    Boops Dad,
I know what you mean. I was raised to live up to what I say. It seems that the handshake agreement has lost all value in today's society. The one thng we can depend on to stay the same no matter what is our Lord. I want to join you all in being thankful for a merciful God, a free country, and a loving family. Thanks to you guys too for being available with info or just an "I've been there too" when we vent about dealing with less than scrupulous contractors.
    Now, let's eat!:D

    T Day

Hello Zig, yeh, I come and go in my post's, but I'm here EVERY day. Got to check the posts multiple times a day, even checked twice while at my mother-n-laws house between thanksgiving meals.

The weather was in the 70's most of the day here with the turkey and the fellowship sunny. We all had a great day with the family. We have a fairly large family with there being 6 kids in our house when I was growing up and from my parent's there are now 32, whewwwww, have we been busy or what?

I never got into football much with having my first job at 10 and school, you know things were tough back then, had to walk to school 2 miles................
..............in the snow..................................up hill both ways...............
    ..................................bare foot........................ lol

Well at least the job at 10 is true, kept the lawns at the local nursing home. That was back when work ethics were a little different and a man could hire a young boy and pay him a buck or less per hour and nobody went to jail because the government mostly stayed out of peoples business and it was more profitable to work than to eat chips, watch the Lorence Welk show and collect a check............. oh, sorry I'm preaching again.

Had a great day, truly blessed of the Lord, eat too much, spent great time with my family, played a little pool, reclined in the chair with the Boop by my side (the wife was busy seeing family) and slept. Pretty cool day.

    God Bless all, again
    The Boops dad :D :) :D :) :D

    Closet "Lawrence Welk" Fan?

Hey Boops dad, Lawrence Welk? Dude! I had to endure the Champaine Music Makers from the mid '50's thru the early '80's. ;) I got to admit though, as far as pure talent was concerned, he had some of the best musicians there ever were. JoAnn Castle on piano, Myron Floren on the "squeeze box", just to name a few. And what about those Lennon Sisters?

Personally, I was an Ed Sullivan fan!:D

    Good ol day

Man, this has got to deserve a post of it's own.

I didn't think about Edd, The Honeymooners, Big Valley, Gunsmoke, The Riffleman, etc, etc, etc. Those were the days.... I layed awake for hours last night thinking about .... When it was...

I know we can't go back, but it seems like life was so much simpler then.
Don't get me wrong, God has been so good to me and my family, and I am so thankful for what He has done and where he has brought us, but, I don't think all the changes over the past 40 plus years have all been for the good.

I got to thinking about things like when my grandad rolled his "50 something chevy pickup because the steering wheel came of in his hand going down the dirt road by our house. Yep, he flipped her, paint bucket in the front floor board and all. Paint was ever-where. Wern't nun of them new fangled seat belts er nutn like at. Just had the neighbor down the road flip er back over with the popin johnny, crunk er up and went on ta fish. Those wer the days.

Stories kept floatin thru my mind,,, guess I had to much turkey, ya think.

Anyway, when this gets started it might need a new post cuz this could take a while for us "old codgers to get it all out".

    The Boops Dad

As long as God makes charcoal and my wife don't care, I'll be smokin' turkeys 'til there taint nuttin to smoke! (It's the Arrowhead connection again, sorry) :D Known around the world as THE BEST tailgating NFL parking lot:cool: (Our team isn't half-bad either;) One dream of mine is after I get my rig done is , of course, go rumblin' up to arrowhead and tailgate! ...and watch the Chiefs win, of course:D
Ah the days. I remember all those shows, Boop's dad. It was a few years later, '76, that I fell in love for the first time. That's when I bought my 1950 Chevy pickup. It had a shelled engine, but by the time my dad found out had bad off it was, it was in our driveway and the guy I bought it from had my dad's money. heh, heh, heh. Before that, who can forget the 60's? From Kennedy to King to Nam to "Pardon me, pardon me. I am not a crook!" (Nixon). My folks were big Hee-Haw fans.(Back when Country was country) All in the Family, Laugh-In... "And that's the way it was" "And I say to myself, 'What a wonderful world'" :(
