Hey guys, another newbie here!

How's it going everybody! I just got a 65 SWB Stepside a couple weeks ago from a buddy of mine. It's been sitting in his barn for the last four years because he didn't have the time to work on it. The guy who owned it before him did a bunch of mods and "upgrades" that need to be fixed. But all in all I got a great deal on it, and I can't be happier. It's got a 350 engine and auto transmission, with the stock steering and drum brakes. Gonna be upgrading to disc brakes in the near future though.

Used to ride around in one similar to this with my Great Grand Dad, and have very fond memories of it. So I always wanted to own one myself. My wife and I had our first baby a month ago, a daughter. Oddly enough my wife was the one who pushed my to get it since she knew I always wanted one.

I know two things about vehicles: jack and squat, so I'm gonna be picking you guys brains a lot. So anyway, looking forward to gaining a lot of info and diving into this truck.

very very nice, Looks like it is solid to, not much cancer. Congratulations on the little girl. I have two girls and a boy. Good luck with them girls my youngest is 14 months. Anyways if i can help let me know. (with the truck that is) my kids are enough.............

Yeah, it's got a couple bad spots, but for the most part it's solid.

Thanks, we've been adjusting slowly but surely. I'm already positive that she's gonna be a handful. Appreciate the offer!

Thanks! I'm hoping that's the case. My future plans include disc front brakes, chrome grill and bumpers, and power steering. I think I'm going satin black with the paint though kinda want that hot rod look. Already designed some art for the in bed tool box or the tailgate. Can't decide where I want it, or if I'm even gonna use it, we'll see...

Appreciate it! Seems like everybody here is pretty solid, no doubt.

Right outside of Prattville, north of Montgomery.
 
hot rods is the way to go, im in the process of painting mine flat black right now. its a strict old skool rod. no billet, no bling, no 24's!!!!

The chrome bumpers and grill are as far as I'm gonna go. Well, and the rims will be chrome too. So it'll be like half-rod / half-bling.:D
 
same here, chome grill, bumpers, chrome custom batches on the back corners of the cab. i also have bullet hub caps for my steel wheels. everthing else is rough cast alluminum. valve covers, air cleaner..... id much rather have stainless steel like in the old old days instead of chome, but owell.
 
I was seriously contemplating moon discs at one point. I found some Cragar's that I really like though, so I'm going with them when I replace the worn out tires.

Yep, my birthday is next week and my wife wanted a list of things I'd like to have. Those were the top on the list, so hopefully I'll be getting those soon. :D
