I need to remove and restall light switch rod on 64 truck how this done help

I need to remove and restall light switch rod on 64 truck how this done help

1) Disconnect Battery
2) Reach up behind the dash and feel for a button on the side of the headlight switch.
3) press button in, and pull headlight knob all the way out.

It may give you some trouble, but keep pressing on that button and work the knob and shaft free from the switch.

Tks, I will give that a try as soon as it heats up outside , I will let know what the out come is

mine only comes out if I pull the knob all the way out first (as val said make sure to disconnect the battery first) then push the little springloaded button on the side as I keep pulling the knob with the other hand.

Also be careful when doing this if the switch is old, like mine was the
entire thing may break....don' yank on it too hard.....
