your truck looks amazing... I just love the looks of these trucks whether they are beautifully restored to almost stock, to restored a hot rod... still they look sweet. or my fav, a lil paint faded, some dents, just a good drivable solid truck, they still look cool!!!! what a great find. way to save another one from the crusher or the wrath of mother nature!!!
No LIE! Another sign it must have had good brakes! I think my fenders were all dented up because that's how they'd stop the truck~ Run into something! Your truck looks as smooooooth as you could ever want! Great find!
Nice truck Your truck has some nice accessories. Grill guard air cleaner side spare tire mount, does your fender have a dip in it for the tire??? Robert
" Field " Pix So , you have there a 216 engine . Those horns ar newer , not the original optional ones . That grill guard is bad and will make your truck EXPLODE ! I'll be a nice guy and properly dispose of it for you..... That sure looks like a nice old truck to me ! .
Great pickup !! Hang in there .......give your truck a good hug every day, it will like you for doing so...... Don't give up on her, they are a part of our heritage !! Welcome, MJD
I'm thinkin you're are right about that. Whats sweet about this one is I got it from the original owner, well kind of. When he died, his son got it and never did drive it. Still has the black and yellow license plates. Wish this snow would melt.....gettin real antsy.
Black & Yellow License plates ! Hey ! be aware that if you have the title and old reggie with thwe B & Y #'s on them , you're allowed to keep them on the truck at NO CHARGE ! . if the DMV or Auto Club people give you any guff , STOP and contact me and I'l dig out my <magic> DMV form # 256 with the special phrasing that'll make it happen . You should get the title squared away ASAP , before you do anything else .
Paperwork Oh yeah, Rebuilt my entire truck with the kids before doing the research on getting a title for it. Got lucky. NY will register an untitled vehicle with a bill of sale if you have owned it for more than a year. Then you wait for the state to do a title search before they send you a transferable title. It was four weeks of nail biteing until I got the paper that said the truck was actually and legally mine. Do it NOW. I had another truck (parts truck) with a title. I saved the data plate (whole cab is still available but REALLY rusty) and paperwork before I scrapped it's remains just in case. Andy
I just wish I had gotten into restoring old trucks and cars along time ago, hopefully my boys, 22 and 25, will lend a hand in restoring this truck.
Good On Ya ! I bought my first old Chevy truck when I was 18 , many years ago . Before that I had other old trucks on the far , @ 14 I had a brand 'F' , it was O.K. , a 6 Banger amd Three On The Tree made it liveable . WELCOME to The Nuthouse ! . we like to drive and enjoy our trucks as well as work on them , kinda different from HAMB . I'm a member there too .
Here you go~ H.A.M.B. = "Hokey Ass Message Board" If you haven't figured it out by now, Nate L-O-V-E-S acronyms! He's led me to come up with a few of my own just to mess with his mind! (Now's the time if there ever was one!) KWIMN? H.A.M.B. is another site filled with good info~ Might give it a check.
" h.a.m.b. " If you like Rat Rods , old school customs , primered paint jobs , NailHead Buick V-8 engines , so on and so forth , give it a look . Therte's a fair amount of wanna be behaviour and general B.S. like " so I walked out to the pile and picked up a pair of perfect Model T fenders and ...." but all in all it's a place that's chock full of good info for DIY custom work and up-fixing of that rusty old '59 Delta 88 you just scored On The Cheap and want to make into a different daily driver . When first you join , they'll ignore your please for help , but in due time you'll be having a good old time and learning things you cannot learn anywhere else .
Nate: We need a link to a table of contents for your acroynms. That would be so handy!!! And fun too I'm way under 40 also, and I love these old trucks
