Old Trains & Old AD's ! THANK YOU Ken ! . This also looks like it did in New Hampshire when I was growing up Those lucky , rich farmers , they got to drive Postwar rigs !
What a RIDE!!! WOW! If I had been driving THAT Jeep, I'd NEVER have had to worry about "Road Rage"!!! Great sites, Big Brother! Now, where can I get a model of a _Chevy AD_. I know I'll NEVER find a GMC model, so where are the Chevy models?
GMC model Here you go Zig! http://www.diecastmodelswholesale.com/servlet/the-GMC-Diecast-Cars/Categories Bob
You shouldn't have done that Bob. Now Paul will just sit around looking at toy trucks instead of getting his real one running.
Oh YEAH, baby! PERFECT! That RED model will be mine! Thanks, Bob! I do remember a time when I could find the Chevy version at places like WalMart. (?) You know~ the plastic put together kind by Revell. (sp?) That's the kind I'd really like, but a pre assembled one would work too. ...Bill~ isn't that G b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l???
Rail Transport That's cool ! . I once had a 'photo of Nash's being shipped on end just like that but in regular box cars so they were schlepped in using a forklift.... BTW ; I may be the only one you'll ever meet who likes Vegas.... the early ones anyways , they looked just like shrunken Camaros .
Vegas on a train I was just thinking that they should have taken those Vegas directly from the factory to the scrap yard on those rail cars. Would have saved many thousands of people the heartache of having the engine in their "new" car give out before the new car smell even faded. Stan
Vegas In Comercial Service I know all about the terrible rust problems and the wierd engine design that caused them to begin smoking in 40,00 miles but , did you know (or remember) that the U.S.P.S. bought thousands of the Sedan Delivery Vegas , overloaded them and ran them for well over 150,00 miles and never had _any_ engine failures ? . Know why ? because they never wnet on the freeway , the engines only operated at low RPM's... Wierd I know . If not for the penny pinchers @ GM , the Vega could have been the right car at the right time .
I love bringing this thread back to life! Found a good picture this morning. Thought I'd share. www.railroadforums.com/photos/showphoto.php/photo/62688
I could only imagine how friggin cool that would be to be the driver of that truck, that day, that moment. Thanks, Ken! (That's almost as good as those big old bass pictures...)
