NP 205 transfer case Do you still have the case? If so I have The wimpy 208 behind the turbo 400 Brute can I just remove my case and bolt yours right in? Is the tale shaft comming out of the tranny the same for both the 208 & 205? Can you send me some pics. of your case front rear left & right side so I can see if the adapter plate is the right one for my truck[1985 K30 EX-MILITARY 6.2 LITER DIESEL DAULLY PICK-UP] soon to be a one ton dump thats why I need the NP 205 to drive my PTO. Thanks For Your Time
Yes, I actually have a few. Do you want slip yoke or fixed yoke? The 81-91 TH400 used on NP208 has the same tailshaft length as the 1985-1991 NP205 TH400. So yes, the transfer case is a bolt up to your tranny. The front driveshaft is shorter with a 205 vs a 208. I'm not sure on the rear but I can find out. All military trucks regardless of year used the 84 back transfer case crossmember for the tall adapter. All 85-91 adapters are short on 205. You will have to run a 85-91 crossmember but that is common on all GM solid axle 4x4 85-91 including Blazer Jimmy Suburban. PM me your email I can send images.
Np 205 Thanks I have the slip yoke now so I think I'll stick with that. Is the fixed yoke that much stronger? Believe it or not this is more a toy than a daily driver !! I like to build toys !! I'll find a cross member, did you say the adapter plate is shorter or longer on your case? Do you buy chance know the number of the Chelsea PTO I'll need to work with a the 205 you have . I currently am using a Chelsea PTO on a 205 in a 77 1 ton daully dump that I'm taking the box and PTO off to use on the Diesel daully but I'm not sure if it will work. The 205 it's on is a standard shift [4sp] transmission. My Email is twoftdeeper@verizon.net I'll check tonight when I get home from work to see if the pics came through. Thanks Again
