HEI questions

    I am trying to hook up a tach on my HEI distributor. I'm from the old school where it meant hooking to a coil. I see on the HEI where it should be hooked but I don't know how it hooks. I looks like it takes a special plug that I don't have and don't even know what to ask for at the parts house.

    Its just a regular crimp-on spade connector. You can buy the crimper and an assortment of connectors in a kit at any local parts store.

    All the spade connects I've seen just slide into each other, male and female, not to be crimped. Am I thinking of the right connects?

    Male end on distributer. Female spade connector... crimp on wire from tach and slide onto male end of distributer....... done

    That's what I did with mine.
