    Robert,

    I used the Peal N Stick on my 54... It help with the noise and the floorboard heat as well... I installed the old style rubber floor mat on top...

    The rolls are about $ 20 each and sold at Lowels... Our Home Depot does not stock it ... I am not sure how many rolls I used... I did the inside of the cab and the doors too...

    I am running a 1960 235 with an original set up Hydra-Matic transmission... The Hydra-Matic puts out a lot more heat than the standard transmissions...

    Hushmat is the way to go. A bulk kit will do most of our trucks' interior. It has heat barrier and sound deadning. Any product that stops panel vibration will cut down on noise, some better than others.

    Look for the jute padding with the silver backing, I usually find at the swap meets for $25. Put on roof and floor/ firewall to help with the heat also.

    Cab Heat

    Robert ;

    I hope you take some before , during and after pix as you seem to work well and this is an important thing to do .

    Before you add the sheeting it is critical to seal up all the cracks around the floor boards and joints , wire holes etc. as the air that flows through is where 60 % of the summer heat gets in .

    I sealed up my '46 3100 in 1976 before I'd ever heard of matting and it wasn't hot at all in summer as long as the windows were open .

    Simple insulation tricks learned growing up Down East with rusty old Farm Trucks .

    Insulation

    You're going to love it .

    Plus the reduction in the high pitched tinny noise .

    That stuff may not stick on the roof or vertical panels for very long, Heat set all of it. Anything that cuts down the resonance of a panel will sound deaden it, Hopefully it will be able to do heat control also. You may want to undercoat the cab and toeboard of the cab, helps seal the metal and will add to the deadening qualities.

    Adhesion

    I always use an ether soaked rag to clean the attaching surface before installing new hood pads (similar repair) and so far , I never had one come loose yet .
