5 or 6 lugs ? .

Ratio ? .

Why did you make this change ? .

I got it with the 5 lug axle swapped in its a 3.73
I changed it for a few reasons. The main reason was that mine was cracked.
Plus I wanted to be able to drive on the freeway, and the 5 lugs were a bonus.
The 60-62 models have the axle saddles at a different location then the 63-72's. So the ones off of the "new" one had to be cut off and new ones welded in. I bought a bolt in track bar that needed to be modified. I had all the brakes redone with new shoes, wheel cylinders, hardware, drums and new brake hose. A new u joint rounded out the swap.
Ran into a few snags. The 67 rear end is a bit wider so the 15x8 wheels I was going to use will not fit.
I also found out that my master cylinder is bad ( I installed a dual master and split the lines awhile back ) as I have a lot of air in the rear circuit. I don't know if I will buy another drum/drum master cylinder ( 15.00) and enjoy it for the rest of summer.
Or do my disc brake swap. I have all the parts except the outer tie rod end, and the rotors. I have 6lug rotors, but want to get the 5 lug rotors at 45.00 ea., I will have to wait till pay day.
Over all I am happy with the out come.

Installed the master cylinder and have been cruising all week !
