Did you see what that 58 Cameo brought? $140,000 The 58 Apache brought $80,000, I would have sold him mine for only $40,000. Wonder if he needs another one? The Cameo is going to Tokyo, you would think someone in the USA would have bought it. Personally, I didn't have an extra $140,000 laying around. It does make you feel good knowing the trucks brought some good money. I have a 1980 Toyota 4x4 that I bought new, wonder if that guy in Tokyo might want to talk...................probably not. Being a 60-66 guy I found this interesting. Truck had 3 miles on it and sold for $27,000 (Check out the right fender guard, very "earth friendly" ) So... what's the guy do with it? Do anything and it's no longer "original". I guess I am at a loss of what the "plan" is, other than putting these trucks and cars in a museum. http://www.autoweek.com/article/201...ve-sales-from-Day-2&utm_campaign=awdailydrive
Auction Foolishness I was waiting to hear the results , I guess folks went kinda crazy as these were mostly just old vehicles in poor shape . I'd love to see a photographic auction results message / catalog whatever .
I had seen pictures of the Cameo and it had a Big Dent on top of the Cab were it got hit by something! amazing $140.000 and it still would need a Restoration! What the Heck if you have the Money!!!!
Here ya go Nate. It's not everything, but quite a lot: https://www.proxibid.com/asp/Catalog.asp?aid=68561&p=1&sort=0#cnTb
interesting to see,it had painted headlight rings along with the chrome bumper and grill, i always wondered if that was an option to have the front end all in chrome or painted? way Cool truck!what an amazing price it went for, and it's going over sea's to Japan!
Lambrecht Auction BTW : if ahyone was there and saw the 1950 Chevrolet four door sedan parked right in front of the dealer , that was Charlie from Hotazona , a buddy of mine . he went and has a terrific time , met new freinds and marveled at the wild prices .
I managed to get the pictures great for paint reference etc. I was dreaming for a while to purchase one but the prices went crazy the auctioneer must have opened a bottle of champagne at the end
