Wondering if anyone has seen any kickpanel covers that eliminate the vent and does not have speakers? Installed a complete AC system and don't think I want to keep the vents and the handle interferes with the fuse panel; on the drivers side.

Doug you can bend the handle a little to get more clearance, but if you really want to eliminate the vent you really need to pull the vent door and bucket out, make a flat plate out of aluminum ( easier to cut ) using the same screw holes with a bead of RTV on the perimiter screw the plate back into place, nobody makes just the kick panel cover without a speaker that I have seen, but there are companies selling carpet kits that include the kick panel without a hole cut for the vent, maybe a way out for you to cover it.

The aluminum plate is a great idea! I was wanting to put the carpet on there anyway so this should work perfect.

Even though I have just joined this forum it is really nice to get some no-nonsense responses from some really great people. Thanks for your replies.

Will be posting some pics of my project soon.

    Kick Panels

    WELCOME DOUG ! .

Me , I'd never want to be without the fresh air vents but a simple bit of Masonite covered i the carpet you choose will do the job .

The good folks here have done anything and every thing you can imagine so don't be shy to jump in with the most mundane of questions , I'm always learning , these folks are *SO* helpful ! .

I'm with Nate, I must be part canine, I prefer 2-50 air over Mr. Frigidaires contraption. I'm that crazy guy you see with his arm out the window zippin' down the road when everybody else has the window up and the air conditioning on.

The only problem is the crap that blows in when you park under a tree and first open up the vents, you end up getting a face full....

Life's not fair ~ either open those suckers up and let the leaves out or your truck rusts to scrap rapidly .

    Like my '69 C/10 did :( .

I always carry a counter brush under the seat to easily sweep out any leaves / dirt .
