Thanks Mike, Helps a lot. As it turned out, the bell housing is for a top loader, and I should’ve known that but being an old and mentally challenged is simply forgot that all of these bell housing were not for three on the tree, but with your dimensions, I can convert one of the two that I...

    Bell Housing Help

Hi Mike, well the hole is smooth and about 1 inch deep. I think I know where you were going with the question. If it was threaded I could make a shaft with a little work. I have figured out what the deal is with this bellhousing. Its the right cast number but evidently it was probably in a car...

    Bell Housing Help

I've researched the master parts catalog for the bellhousing and the shift linkage shaft isn't listed as a separate item so I guess I have to find a machinist to make me one. If anyone can provide dimensions for the shaft or s source I would appreciate it very much, I would need overall length...

    CAM Gear Replacement Issue

I could use some help!! I want to replace my fiber cam gear with the aluminum one on my 1959 235 cu in chevy engine. All the online parts listings show models covered up to 1958 and then for 1960 but no 1959. Was there a change in the crank gear or some other issue that causes the 1959 to be...

49 Panel Front Fender anti-squeak install help

Ok so far - the next issue is how far up the rear of the fender does the fender welt go. Anyone have a picture or good description on the installation. I wish Ol-Chebbys tech tip showed a better picture. As always any help is appreciated.

49 Panel Front Fender anti-squeak install help

UPDATE - after doing some additional reading of the factory assembly manual I see that the proper method is to just let the anti-squeak overlap the top of the inner fender so that's what I will do.
