54 and 55 1st have one piece windshield.

The series is in the case of a model year being split with two designs in the same year. 55 1st series used the 54 body style with an emblem change and an open driveline. 55 2nd series was the later more squared off body design. Your 54 is not a split year but the visor I believe is 54 and 55...

It is wiring cover that clips and screws to the side of the column tube.

They had me weld in washers that just fit the hole and then weld the small hole up when done.

I have been told that Jim Carter has the only one that doesn't already have the clutch hole punched out to use with your hydra-matic but do not know this to be true. I have not yet bought one myself. I think they are perforated but not punched.

The cable should be the same. There is a screw in gear/cable drive assembly in the tailhousing of the transmission. They show up on ebay regularly. Is that the question you were asking? This one is for a 3/4 ton truck but it gives you an idea of what you are looking for...
