    Pictures worth a 1000 words

That sir is a great looking truck. Well done. Would you happen to have any additional pics of the the Battery box or maybe could explain a little more how you built that? Very slick.

    Master Cylinder

Another option.. Not sure what your overall plans for the truck are, but if you are putting in some kind of power steering setup, then one braking option is a brake system that uses a hydraulic brake booster rather than a vacuum booster. I'm using the cylinder/booster from an '82 olds delta...

    Changing Gear Ratios

Depends What is the truck used for? Just a joy rider? You could always swap out gears in the rear end instead. I think Classic parts has a set of 3.38 gears which would be more highway appropriate than the 3.91 or 4.10 gears you've likely got now, no? just my 2 cents.

    Tie Rod End Woes

I've solved my own mystery, thought i'd send an update. I got a chance to look at a 2nd '58 that was unrestored. It had pressed in ball studs. So somewhere in the history of My truck somebody put new screw in, tapered ball studs. I'd thought my truck was all original, but there seems to be a...

    Tie Rod End Woes

Old Thread, but same problem I know this is an old thread, but a similar problem still occurs. At least on my '58. I've actually got the reverse problem. Just purchased and recieved the New Style replacement tierod ends, but they have a Straight Stud, and my steering arm has a tapered hole...

    Replacing grille in 57

If you have a 55-56 Grill, you then might likely have 55-56 sheet metal from the cab forward, no?

    seat

I haven't done this myself, but it seems to me I remember reading about somebody that had put in a bench seat from a early to mid 90's full size GM truck. Either a silverado or sierra. I don't remember what difficulties (if any) they faced. sorry couldn't be more help.

    Front Axle

Other options include the purchase of a new drop axle if you are looking to keep the originality or otherwise don't want the extra cost/skill required for an IFS. classic performance parts has them I believe as well as a few other vendors.
