The new Pertronix I just installed does not use a "rotator" like my old one, but relies on the existing lobes of the distributor shaft. Works very well so far.

I had to send mine off to Maine Radiator for a core rebuild. Not cheap, but they did an excellent job and very good service. I now run my truck with a 0 psi cap. Those "do-nut" cores are delicate. Good luck, Terry

Guten Tag, If it is a "Donut" core, you may want to check with Maine Radiator. They provided me with one that is performing perfectly. I am running a 0 psig radiator cap and the cooling system is functioning very well. <180 degrees F. This is for a 1953 1/2 ton with a 1960 235 engine.
