    Front Disc Brakes

CPP six lug kit Gerald, not long ago I did the disc brake upgrade to my 1956. I also have the straight axle with six lugs. I purchased the 5559CBK-6HK kit from CPP. It's a bit of an investment but I feel like it was well worth it. It included everything you need, the master with a mounting...

    55 and 59 hings

Hinge teeth lined up correctly? Hi folks, long time no post but I thought I would throw 2 cents worth in here. I realize you may have a unique situation here Steve since you have a 55 cab and the hinges are different for a 59 but what I experienced (besides a lot of frustration) when I recently...

Just for clarification, that 5 inches that I refer to is from the edge of the frame. Measuring from the inside of the frame channel would be about 7 inches.

    headlight switch

I'm attaching a pic of the wires to my headlight switch. The yellow wire that you see is for headlight power. I'm thinking that terminal is the "H" terminal but don't see any markings. The brown wire just below the yellow is for the park lights. The blue wire below that is the dimmer power wire...

    Power Steering Options

Bill, I got my gearbox from a 1981 Toyota 4X4. I just ran out and put a tape measure on it and measured the farthest point that the gearbox extends toward the engine from the frame to be 5 inches. Good luck!

    Power Steering Options

Boy, it sure is quiet around here lately. I thought I would give an update on my power steering conversion and attach a couple of photos. I would also like to say thanks to Bobby and Steve for providing help in PM's and to Chris Drum for providing 6 cylinder pump brackets at a reasonable price...

6 Cylinder engine mounts "bird legs"

Hey folks, I have a set of the original type engine mounts and flanges for a 1955 thru 59 pickup. Anyone wanting to put a straight six back in their truck and looking for a set of these mounts will have a hard time finding them. I know because that's what I did. I now have an extra set of the...

    Headlight Bezel Seals

I put a set of those on my 56 not too long ago. I am sure they do not need to be trimmed but I had to do some coaxing to get the bezel to slip around the headlight rim with the seal installed in the bezel. I think you have the right idea as to how the seal fits into the bezel. If you use...

Sounds good. I actually found a pik-n-pull yard today where I can get a gearbox for $30. They had quite a few 80's toyota trucks to choose from. I guess I have a project for Saturday morning.:) Thanks

Question? Those of you who have installed the Toyota gearbox, do you know exactly what years will work? Also does it have to be from a 4 X 4? Thanks

    Fenton Split header pipes

Fwiw Found my problem.:) When you're trying to set up dual carbs, make sure there is no blockage in the fuel line! It wasn't me but the guy I bought the engine from. He could never get it to run right with duals so he blocked the fuel line (I now know in two places) and put a plate under the...
