    Hello,
the frame of the vent window has a rod and of the end of this rod is a thread. What kind of thread is this?
The doors have Division Bar Relining Channels that lead the window if you wind it up or down. How do I fix in the frame of the window in the door?
    Can someone send me photos?

    Hello 'ol chebby,
thank you for your posting. May be that my discription wasn't precise enough.
I mean the relining channels which are fixed at the frame of the door. See at the red stripe on the pic. Do have a photo?
    Thanks
    Wolfgang

Start at the vent window frame and work your way back and down into the door. There is plenty of room to loose any excess down inside the door. Don't Glue the upper track first, as it will need to be loose when you install the vent window. When making the curve at the top corner, use something to sit inside the felt to keep it from collapsing when you bend it.

Use the weatherstrip adhesive, I like the 3 M black stuff. smear on the back and sides of the felt channel, then the door frame. Allow to dry, then reapply about 2 feet at a time, thin coat. Now stick it. Chase it down into the door, roll up the window and leave it up a while to mke shure it is set.

    Window channel retainers

This is something that has also been bothering me. The originals on my '52 had little metal tabs with teeth that were clinched through the felt channel. The tabs then stuck out at right angles and held the felt channel in place when covered by the window surround. The problem is that the metal tabs are too highly stressed to survive removal and transfer to the new channel. First time you bend them they break at the fold line. And I have not seen reproductions of them available anywhere.

The thread is 5/16" UNF. Once the rod is through the holes with the friction washer as shown in ol chebby's photo, it gets another friction washer, a spring, flat washer and then a lock nut. You adjust the tension on the spring to hold the window in place when it is open.

    Hello, thanks for your answers.
I have one questions again, when I fix the felt channel into the door frame, must be before the door window installed or can I fix at first the felt channel in the door frame and then install the window?
