King Pins Well ; If you jack up the front end and adjust the wheel bearings to zero play , then you can rock the king pins for testing by grasping at the very top and very bottom ~ Most unrestored trucks will have from 1/8"~ 1/4" of side to side play when measured at the bottom tread center . What this does is : allows the truck to wander aimlessly on smooth roads and follow cracks suddenly on bad roads (dangerous & scary) . It also causes rapid tire wear and increased steering effort .
