    King Pins

    Well ;

    If you jack up the front end and adjust the wheel bearings to zero play , then you can rock the king pins for testing by grasping at the very top and very bottom ~

    Most unrestored trucks will have from 1/8"~ 1/4" of side to side play when measured at the bottom tread center .

    What this does is : allows the truck to wander aimlessly on smooth roads and follow cracks suddenly on bad roads (dangerous & scary) .

    It also causes rapid tire wear and increased steering effort .

    I hope this helps .

    Whoo boy ~ I' suffering a seriously bad cold and I think the meds just kicked in so if none of this makes sense , I'll fix it later....
