    63 with 6 lug

Welcome to the site Curtis. All the 1/2 tons back then were 6 lugs. My old '65 was a 1/2 ton and also had 6 lug wheels. I'm pretty sure the 5 lug 1/2 tons started in 1967. Here's a close up of the rear wheels I used on my '65...

    Steve's 50 re-re-rebuild

Gotta tell ya Flywheel... that's one beauty of a paint job on the frame... shop cat approved too! Tip of the hat to ya on posting the photo's for us. Nicely done all around. The fella that did the bodywork on my Model A and Model T sprayed undercoating on both of them. It's held up great...

    Bedwood hinge ?

Who said stuffed? "Hang on, I need to take the coolers, lawn chairs and canopy out of the truck so I can get some gas." Ah crap! What's wrong? Gas just dripped on my bed boards! The other problem with this design is you have to point the gas nozzle straight down, which can be tricky to do...

Shocks absorbers for my '65 Ford Ranchero

If the Ranchero has a stock suspension I would go with whatever the OEM recommendation would be, such as a Monroe. If it has an upgraded suspension, then go for the upgrade Bilsteins... that's what I would do. Post up a photo of the truck.. I love that era Ranchero!

Lakeroadsters' Build Thread: '65 SWB Step

Pretty amazing how few posts there are on the 60-66 Forum here. Seems like there used to be a lot going on here. Kind of makes you wonder if its a sign of the times? _____ John

    Steve's 50 re-re-rebuild

Thanks for the KW 101 lesson. Bolting everything makes a lot of sense. Very interesting. I, as you know, being a Peterbilt fan, went by CH in the 70's, short for "California Hauler". That story reminds me... Ever been to Luckenbach Texas? John

    Steve's 50 re-re-rebuild

Bad to the bone Steve..... Thanks for posting. It looks like the frame for the most part is all bolted together? Any welding? Any idea what steel is used and if it's tempered or mild? Curious... what's your CB handle? John

    Only way is up!

That shot from the lofty perch is quite Artsy Fartsy Zig. Your truck is lookin good. Do you ever drive your truck in the rain? Rooster tails in the rain are a hoot. I got stuck out in the rain in my fenderless model A once.. I think I generated more rain than the sky! Steve, what's the...

    oil pressure

Are you sure the gauge is accurate? What kind of gauge is it, mechanical or electric? As a point of reference, the well worn 350 in my '65 had 25 psi at idle.

    Transmission problems?

Sounds like a clutch issue if the driveshaft is spinning with the clutch pushed in. New clutch? I ask because I bought a new replacement clutch once for a '70 Nova and it was made wrong at the factory. When I took it back we compared it with another new clutch and you could visually see the...
