when i had the "camaro"" rallies on my 58, i had the same problem, i liked the look or a stock camaro cap and they fit right on and looked good...
To be honest I don't think it's going to make a difference, but the artice I was reading on this said to change it over....

this can easily be done in 6 steps 1. you have to definatly disconnect the battery!! 2. this might sond funny but it works..reverse the wires...

This kit should work for you if your truck is a 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive, this kit can be installed in a weekend, I think the hardest part about it...
