700r. It will fit fine. THe frames on these trucks is tucked way up, so the chassis isn't as low as the body looks. I have a 700 in mine....
The truck is negative ground. The coil will get 12v from the switch, then - to distributor.
You may need an adapter u joint to mate old and new, just measure the cups on the driveshaft and the rear inpt shaft and see a competant NAPA man...
That, or a foriegner without a solid grasp of english. 'Course some of us have that problem also..........

Open will overheat your intake, often causing vapor lock. Closed will make it warm up the incoming much slower.....no problem if you live down south.
My orig. fuel guage is running on 12v. I can't speak for anyone else's. Everything else should be fine, except the blower motor and the light bulbs.

Do you really need 1/2 ", or would a thinner spacer do? They make them in several thicknesses. Clearance is clearance, wheather 1/4" or a foot.
I would be down with some grilled Yogi. We don't really have that many bears in Charlotte, unless the pro team comes to play.
