I used to get this sort of thing into the Shop once or twice a year......
I always gas welded a couple flat washers on the inside , I have seen a few that were hogged out and a short bit of steel tubing was inserted.......
My vote goes for the 700R4 as so many 200R4's have died , I'm not sure they're up to any serious driving or load hauling.... JMO .
FWIW ; GM must have had a special on 235's in 1957 as I've seen more of that year as replacement engines than any other , ever .
