When I did my harness I ran tail and stop wires in to the fuses then out to tail and stop lights, and ran the headlight wires to the junction blocks on inner fenders. Hope this helps. John

I have a solid 51 GMC cab, front fenders and hood but dont have the gmc frame, I would like to put it on a 551st series chevy frame I have with a 235 engine. does anyone know if the GMC radiator, grill attachment ect. will work on this frame? thanks John

I have 6 volts in my 54 and have no complaints, and my vacuum wipers work great! The original radio and other 6 volt stuff all work fine so no reason to change, but the 55 1st series truck i'm building with my daughter will be 12 volts cus she wants some newer upgrades

Engine color Here is a page out of the 1954 Chevy truck Engineering Features that tells the color of 54 truck engines, but not sure of color before 54, I pulled a 216 out of a 49 and it was gray. All the car engines i've seen were blue. John

54 clock Hi Martinius, it is a wind up clock with a light bulb in the back of it. John

Here is my 1954 clock and housing, this housing only fits 54-551st series chevy trucks, but the clock was also used for 53-54 chevy cars and 54 gmc truck and was mounted in the dash. For the 54 gmc truck it had a trim ring to hold it in the dash. Jim Carter sells the trim ring.

Hi Alfonso, my vacuum wipers work great, I had to replace the old dryed and cracked lines to prevent vacuum leaks. John
