    Old Air A/C-Heater

Bill and Steve, Thanks for moving my old photos from the gallery. The picture Steve posted of the engine and AC set up is the photo I had in mind. The interior pic shows the AC plenum under the 54 dash. My truck was completed in 2003 (three years in the remake). Engines don't remain pretty...

    Old Air A/C-Heater

There is a photo of my 235 with the Old Air set up in my "media" on this site. I do not know how to move the picture from the file to this message. The photo was taken with the engine set up, but no front sheet metal. Jim. :)

    New old pick-up postage stamps

my bride keeps us in postage stamps by ordering commemorative stamps over the web. I was pleasantly surprised to find new old truck stamps at my desk this week. There is one AD Chevy stamp, two brand Fs and an International among the set. Enjoy. Jim

I have no words for this.......

I have been responsible for a fleet of light trucks used for field work on the Texas Gulf Coast. On several newer model pickup trucks the disc calipers corrode/oxidize and ruin the disc and bracke shoes in a very short time (20,000 miles). Once the calipers lock up (fail to return when the...

    Ray Charles might can

Bill, The reference to Ray Charles is from Coilovers response a couple of months ago to my earlier post in recommending how to repair the fender and match the paint. He noted the if the repairs were not done properly, even Ray Charles could see the problem. I regret the lack of explanation in...

    Ray Charles might can

Zig, I loaded the photo several times in an attempt to turn it over, Sure beats me. When I open the photo, it corrects itself. I enjoyed driving my truck yesterday. It makes me smile! Jim

    Ray Charles might can

I was recommended by a fellow car buff to find and individual he taught Autobody work to some years ago in his high school teaching days. I found the gentleman running his own body shop in town. I took him photos of my truck so he might determine if he were interested. Turns out, he was the...

    Fan blade size for a 1954 3100 - 235 engine

. J.P, I read the forum a bunch but don't log in often. If I recall, Bilbo has a Chevrolet 235 in a GMC truck. Because he and Zig have GMC trucks, they may hav just a bit more space between between the water pumps and radiators in the GMC trucks. GMC I6 engines are about a half inch...

We now have a "LIKE" button!!!

The one actual difference/change I don't like about the new format is we have to log in to open pictures. I like pictures, I find logging in every time I review posts is not in my nature. Jim:)

We now have a "LIKE" button!!!

I agree with Mr. Hanlon. If we didn't like this forum , we wouldn't show up here almost every day. This said when a post is totally unrelated, or completely lost here, someone among the the "friends group" speaks up pretty quick. I was satisfied with the previous forum format, I assume we...

    Now thats definitely different!

Jamaal This summer, there was a fundraiser roast of JAMAAL CHARLES in Port Arthur. The local museum has a sports section where they sport the local coaches and athletes. Jamaal was inducted in the museum nd there is a new bust of him in his display. Maybe we can borrow the bust and mount...

    Now thats definitely different!

School colors on pickups All the maroon pickup trucks in Texas can't win my Aggies a football championship! Another custom job the owner really desired. When the KS Chiefs realize the time and toil dedicated to the team effort by Zig, maybe they will win it all in the big time? Zig...

    It all evens out

Collector car insurance I just checked my insurance policy. No deductible for collision! At least I won't be out of pocket for repairs. With a little inconvenience, this repair may be a simple "bump in the road". Jim:)

    It all evens out

Evening out I do appreciate the coaching. I would prefer to drive my 54 from the coast up to Plano to have my front fender tenderly repaired by Evans team. Because the truck was disassembled and reassembled in my back yard when restored, it is far from perfect. If I can coax a young body...

Backing through my lawn, all by myself

Flames Hot Rod Flames, what a great idea! I have been accused in the past by restoration purist of having a street Rod because I am running Pertronix ignition. Not bone stock, but close. 235, and Patrick's 355:1 ring and pinion. Jim

Backing through my lawn, all by myself

I know once in a great while we each have a chance to do something we feel we could have avoided. This was Wednesday afternoon of this week. I was backing through a chaine link fence gate opening and just turn in the gate too soon. Thunder paid the price! My 13 year old paint job will...

    How does this work?

Plug in inverter I bought an inexpensive 12v to 110v AC inverter at radio shack a number of years ago. I plug it into my cigar lighter when string lights on the truck for Holiday Parades.. It works for low amp usage. Jim:rolleyes:

    Model ??

1952 half ton The model is 3100. If you are purchasing engine parts or accessories, you will want to now the year of manufacture for your 235. On the starter side of the engine, look for a 4 alpha numeric with any letter A through J and three digits to follow. Ken's 50 will let you...
