1968 GMC Jimmy is it worth saving?

Hi, I'm new here, and have been checking out your site.Its very informative.
I have a friend that picks up old cars bring a GMC Jimmy for me to buy. The 5th vin digit is 8. Does that mean 1968? Another friend told me they didn't make a Jimmy in 68, but said early Jimmys were low production.
This truck is missing alot of stuff, and is basically a body with no motor, trans, or suspension. Has some rust. Is it worth saving?

I will most likely sell it as is or strip parts off of it, as it is too much work for me put back together.

I like old Fords, but drive a Chevy truck. I have a 40Chevy and some 53-4 Cars also. Thats for you Chevy guys that hate Fords...Some Ford guys arent all bad.

'69-'72 are the years for the first gen Blazers and Jimmys, so they can be hard to come by. If the body and frame are in decent shape, I think it would be easy to find someone to buy it.

If it's a rust bucket then junk it. If it just has typical rust like rocker panels and fenders then it's a good project. Check out the rust and compare to avalible body parts. If it was me I'd keep it and slowly fix it up. Get all the body work out of the way first since it isn't a driver.

67-72 trucks are very popular and Blazers from that era are getting hard to find.
